Zachary’s Cerebral Palsy – Effects and Therapies

My first vlog. It’s in two parts. This one is an informational piece on Zachary’s cerebral palsy condition and how we work with him one-on-one. Just so everyone knows, my wife Renee works with Zachary the most every single day. She’s an absolute blessing and a wonder in Zach’s life. She doesn’t like being on camera though, so I do these pieces to get information out and let family, friends and others know what we go through. Just wanted to clarify that! Renee was working and Zach and I had daddy/son time, so I made this video.

It was created as a part of my grade 12 film art course in hopes that it would be used as an informative and encouraging documentary to families also dealing with this obstetrical nerve injury. It explores my many experiences with Brachial Plexus Palsy through following a trip to the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children as well as my life story of my experiences both past and present. Cerebral Palsy Remix

This is a remix/ mashup created to help raise awareness of Cerebral Palsy. But more importantly, I hope that after watching this you will see that children with Cerebral Palsy are just like every other child. It’s sad that many times people look at someone with a physical disability and assume that it means they are mentally delayed. It is my wish that these children and their families can be embraced and better understood by the general public. This project was completed by me (Shelle D.) for my Writing, Research, and Technology course at Rowan University with Professor Wolff. It was created using Windows Movie Maker.
